Education
Chris earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Law in 2002 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. While attending the University of Missouri, he served as Vice President of the Missouri Students Association, developing leadership skills that would later shape both his legal career and public service work.

Attorney Chris Benjamin
Chris Benjamin is a seasoned trial attorney with more than two decades of legal experience serving clients throughout Missouri and Kansas. He has handled more than 200 trials and has recovered millions of dollars for injury victims while also defending individuals facing criminal charges, traffic violations, and protection order proceedings.
Known for his direct communication and practical guidance, Chris works to ensure clients understand their options and feel prepared for every stage of their case. Whether someone is recovering from an accident or facing a serious legal challenge, he believes informed clients make stronger decisions.
His experience spans both the courtroom and public service. Chris has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Missouri, the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals, and the Missouri Southern District Court of Appeals. Since 2019, he has been recognized annually as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer.
For clients, that experience translates into informed legal strategy, thorough preparation, and a commitment to pursuing the best possible outcome under the circumstances.
Legal and Professional Experience
Chris previously served as Municipal Judge for Garden City, Missouri, where he gained firsthand insight into how local courts operate and how judicial decisions impact individuals and families.
He also served as Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives and as General Counsel to the Majority Floor Leader. During his time in state government, he played a key role in drafting legislation and helping move bills through the legislative process.
In 2005, Chris worked alongside then-State Senator Chris Koster to establish an additional judgeship in Cass County, resulting in the creation of Division 5 of the 17th Judicial Circuit. He has also served on staff within the Missouri Senate and remains actively engaged in public policy and community leadership.
Leadership and Community Involvement
Chris currently serves as President of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees for the Kansas City region.
His previous leadership roles include:

- President, Harrisonville Area Chamber of Commerce
- Member, Missouri Bar

Personal Background
A graduate of Harrisonville High School and an Eagle Scout, Chris believes discipline, perseverance, and preparation are essential both inside and outside the courtroom.
An avid distance runner, he has completed more than 75 marathons and ultramarathons, including races ranging from 26.2 miles to 135 miles. He credits endurance running with helping him develop the focus, resilience, and determination that benefit his clients and his leadership roles.
