Hometown Harrisonville
Chris grew up in Harrisonville, graduated from the Harrisonville High School, and began his practice of law in Harrisonville, before later serving as the Harrisonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s president. Although it has been some time since Chris had an office physically located in Harrisonville, he has continually served clients in the area and is excited by this opportunity to better accommodate Harrisonville residents.
Harrisonville’s Proud History
Harrisonville was first settled in the early 1830s by pioneers from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia who found value in the area’s rich farmlands and plentiful streams. In 1837, Harrisonville was officially incorporated and named in honor of Albert J. Harrison, one of the first Congressional representatives to be elected from the state of Missouri. Harrisonville became the seat of Van Buren County, which, in 1849, became Cass County.
Historic Harrisonville Square
Harrisonville’s historic square, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, consists of four full blocks of historic buildings. At the center of the square is the Cass County Court House. The two-story brick courthouse was constructed in 1897, just after the Civil War. On the grounds of the courthouse is a World War Veterans’ Monument featuring a life-sized World War I, doughboy, soldier constructed of polished granite.
